We all have the same amount of time. It's just a matter of what you choose to spend it doing. Age has nothing to do it with.
oh my sweet summer child, do you think 2 hours is long for a board game?
Excellent price for a top-notch game! (Obligatory BGG link: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/177736)

Yes because I'm not 20 anymore and my time is limited.

$100 MSRP for a few dollars of plastic and cardboard doesn't make sense to me. If it's a good game, selling it for cheaper will earn back the R&D in quantity of sales.
And you look at BGG and its rating does not justify a $100 or even a $66 price.
It's top 20 in strategy games and 25th overall for all games ever made.

How picky are you?

And the weight shows as eight pounds. Not exactly "a few dollars in plastic(it's actually wood) and cardboard."

I just played Die Macher a couple weeks ago. Took about six hours.

Don't think of return in value in the components and parts but the hours of enterainment you get. This is way cheaper compared to say a movie.A movie for couple is $30, so that's minimum 7 dollars per hour of entertainment for a 2 hour movie. Now think of a board game, this board game can be played again and again. You can talk and interact while playing, you can have friends over and order in cheap pizza and wine. You can play in your pyjamas and not set foot outside the house. If as a couple you lay this game atleast 10 times you are basically at $2.5/hour per person. The more you play the more value you get.If you are playing with kids they can learn maths, patience, strategizing, logic etc…

And if you get bored of it, you can usually sell it for close to what you paid. Sometimes more than you paid if it is out of print.

I'm one of those kinds of people. In part, this isn't just a board game to me, it's a work of art. It lives in the space of designer board games. This board game's designer is Uwe Rosenberg. If you're imagining board games as mass market games like Clue, Life, Sorry, Monopoly, etc. then definitely the price tag seems absurd. However, this is a complex game with high quality components with a lot of strategic and tactical depth. This is not the type of game I would use to introduce people to the world of hobby board gaming. It is a fairly heavy game, being higher on the scale of mechanical weight.
Exactly, this is not some streamlined made super cheap monopoly crap. It's an amazing game, with amazing components, and it's really for people who are into the board game hobby and are willing to invest time into learning such a fun and amazing game. Worth Every penny IMO

This is easily one of my top 3 games, probably my number one. This is not a cheaply made board game for kids with plastic components and cardstock that you find at most department stores. All components (except for the dice) are wood. The tiles are very dense cardboard. The box is chock full and very heavy. It takes up a lot of table space and looks very confusing at first but is actually rather straight forward to play. It has a nice flow that is quite satisfying. It has a wonderful solo mode as well. The game is fantastic on its own but the expansion makes it even better.

So tempted! Any recs for fun games that are around 30mins, 4 players, ages: >13?Last one we played was Trash Pandas lol
Cascadia is 100% my recommendation - it's so easy to teach and quick to play. 7 wonders is a little harder to initially pick up but afterwards very quick to play.

I bought this game when it originally came out for $95. This game has far more components than typical games do. Tons and tons of resource tokens. But also, games have gone up about 30% overall in the past 5 years due to the scamdemic.

$66 is a steal for this game. Excelent game.

Or Gloomhaven or Frosthaven. Played each of those for 2 years nearly every week to finish.
