The 1/2 impact is the 921 which is the better compact and hasn't been on sale much lately fwiw.

The 860 impact driver is not bad as well. Guess it is hackble. Return the kit and get the bare tool for $85+.

If I want to have only one impact wrench, which one should i choose 1/2 in DCF921 or the 3/8 in DCF923 (for more precision work)?

Personally I bought 923 when I needed one because I have more ⅜" chrome sockets that I've been using (not the best practice but I have a lifetime warranty on the sockets and I think this impact is RIGHT on the verge of really needing impact rated sockets). I'm now thinking of selling the 923 to get a 921 and get ½" impact sockets for my bigger impact that I haven't used yet.
921 & 923 are basically the same, I think 923 is SLIGHTLY shorter. I've used it on tight stuff and it's great but not ran into a situation I needed the stubby sockets so I don't think the extra ¼" (I'm guessing) or so will hurt me.

Where do you get $85? Listed @ $219 for me so comes out to about $105 after hack.

I was thinking of the Lowe's deal. $105 is not bad for the 921 impact wrench.

Gotcha.
860 (¼" impact driver) with $219 MRSP would be $104.xx
921 (½" impact wrench) $239 MSRP would be $108.xx

I did notice that all the tools MSRP are $10-20 more expensive now than they've been recently

With the router, it makes router $110.60 if "hacked" with that inflated $249 price they have it at. Normally, I'd return the battery kit but idk, at that point it almost makes it make more sense to just keep it at $88.40... I'd totally jump on this if the router wasn't so overpriced making it absorb too much of the prorate ratio. I missed the pricing mistake a couple weeks ago at Lowe's, Acme was out of the router for their same mistake. I may just keep waiting for that >$90 router deal I've been holding out for as it's the only "free tool" from these constant promotions I don't own.

My Ryobi AirStrike nailer is heavy AF. Would nailer from Dewalt be lighter?

Wouldn't dcf923 be able to do all things the dcf921 can do, why sell dcf923?

It absolutely can do everything the 921 can do, except for use 1/2" sockets without an adapter... I plan to buy some 1/2" sockets for my larger impact, so really just to be able to have impact sockets for the atomic without needing to have a set of 3/8" also.

I like the 923 as it's easier/more compact to go up to 1/2" via adapter than to go from 1/2 down to 3/8, the 92X units have enough torque for 1/2" socket jobs, but I have a bigger (899) unit for that work so I mostly use 3/8 on the 923, but it will easily remove lugs from an SUV etc with the 1/2 to 3/8 adapter. They make very short adapters that are like a square inside a square with a short flange.

Has anybody else noticed that the retail price of all the tools has increased by an average of about 15% compared to just a couple weeks ago?
