I have 2 of these boxes (both 16GB / 512GB). I have one set up as a dedicated bare metal NAS, running OpenMediaVault with 2 large mech drives attached via a USB dual drive caddy, while the other is running proxmox. I'm an AMD guy, but I have to admit that the N150 is impressive for what it is.

Overall this little guy packs a lot of punch for such a small footprint and price, and I wish I had a reason to pick up a 3rd one.

Thanks, OP....but these prices are pretty much routine for these particular configurations (give or take a few dollars). Additionally, the "customer service" phone numbers provided by the seller (GMKtec-US) are Amazon's phone numbers! There is no ongoing warranty support from Amazon (beyond the initial 30-day window). The GMKtec website offers no US phone number (only messaging) and the device needs to be shipped to them at your expense. To where?....China? Long-term reliability is questionable for these mini-pc's (relative to numerous complaints) and warranty support may be sketchy (or even nonexistent)....so, as usual with these obscure mini-pc companies....buyer beware!

i bought one of the 8gb versions to play minecraft with my kids. it wont run it smoothly on our 55" tv. maybe it would work ok on a smaller monitor? not sure. decided to keep it as a 'spare' pc though. seems to do basic functions well. will play 4k video full screen from youtube on the 55" tv

The GMKtec tech support was very responsive by email to my questions.

Got this and put in 32GB of Crucial ram to run Windows Server 2025, it's been rock solid with the latest drivers.

Pretty amazing given the FACT that this processor does NOT SUPPORT more than 16GB of memory! LMAO

I wasn't referring to "questions". I was clearly referring to physical warranty support in the US....since these mini-pc's fail as a result of overheating (and there are a variety of other reliability issues as well).

Just use a streaming device for YouTube/other apps. This isn't really designed for that purpose.

Intel ARK lists the validated maximum spec -- this is oftentimes lower than what a chip can support; basically, they don't make any promises of performance or reliability past that specified maximum, but they do effectively say "unless something is actively wrong/out of spec with the RAM you're using, you should be able to run up to this much". This means that some brands of memory, or timings, or whatever, outside of that range (eg 32GB) may not work, and Intel doesn't want you crying to them about it. That said, OEM's will validate their own sourced memory on platforms, and ship higher memory configs, taking on the burden of being where the proverbial buck stops if something goes wrong (for what little it's often worth).

But you can find, like, a decade+ of threads of people documenting putting 2x the amount ARK lists for their CPU, and having their machine work fine. Hell, I can make this one of those threads: I've attached a screengrab from my old QNAP TS-453A, configured with twice the RAM ARK would have you believe its processor could support. It's been running for seven or eight years with no issues.

It's confusing, and Intel could be clearer; ARK is a super useful database, but when working with a system with a restrictive cap, it's worth googling if anyone before you has tried to go over said cap. If you wanna be conspiratorial about it, you could say that Intel wants you to go with a higher-end processor to get more memory supported. Regardless the reason, I'm certain that some N150 systems would have no problem with some 32GB RAM configurations; this isn't even the first I've heard of it.

Could you please share the model RAM you used so we know what is compatible?

I got one to use as a remote desktop client. Has been stellar so far running Linux Mint. It came with a windows license but was never interested in using it.
NOTE: There are no USB-C ports on this PC. I didn't think to verify that when I ordered, was just surprised when it arrived. My fault entirely, but want to bring it up.

If you're seeking top tier RMA support, $125 probably isn't the right price range. That said, it has no problems with overheating, max temps hovered around 70C while CPU stress testing, well below the 100C operating range.
