People seem to value the high performance batteries and this kit has those. For me, the most interesting part is the Whisper series blower and at 450CFM, it almost has twice CFM's as my existing blower. On the 18V platform, the highest CFM blower is the 510CFM blower - I am willing to trade a bit of performance to get a deal on good combo.
The blower itself seems similar to this one below (retails for $159). Similar because there seems to be some discrepancy in the max air speed between the two models.

I have been using Ryobi tools for a while but the Whisper series trimmer blew me away - it was far superior to the regular trimmer. Hoping it is the same with this blower.

I fired my gardener and decided it's time to get hands dirty again .
I got a cheap Ryobi trimmer and the damn thing was a toy - cutting path was small and the cutting string all got tangled up. I returned that and bought the more expensive one and the difference is mind boggling - the more expensive is cutting through even 3/4" x 4' weeds like anything. The first couple of times I used the tool, I recovered the tool money versus hiring a pro.
I also bought a Ryobi reciprocating saw as part of the $100 Ryobi days deal. The saw is a complete piece of garbage - there is so much back-end vibration - mind boggling. If I needed to cut more tree limbs, I would spend the money for the brushless variant. Fortunately, I don't have to cut too many tree branches.

You can check with all Home Depot stuff like this and now it seems like Lowe's is starting to show separate prices online too. Sometimes HD will also sometimes have a one non-hackable deal & a hackable one, so it doesn't hurt to search for the specific P/N of the item.
