Has anyone found good eartips for these? I tried the xm4s but they would fall out of my ears really easily

Cool. I always thought of earbuds are "disposable" with consumers not being able to replace the batteries, but now that I've actually looked for tutorials (at least for the Sony XM4 & XM5 buds), there are a quite a few.
With waterproof rating you kinda have to deal with difficult battery replacement. especially for smaller electronics.

there was a bad firmware update that basically overvolted or something and the headphones wouldn't last more than 20 minutes.https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyHead...ry_issues/I replaced the battery with this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C62L2FTV and it has been keeping its battery life now.
Same. Process was surprisingly easy to replace batteries. These are the longest lasting earbuds I've owned over the years. Use them all the time. Happy with quality/value.

I got the XM4s from the same seller a few years and while it worked right out of the box the battery was about 60-65% of what it should have been and it didn't take it long for the buds to die while I still have samsung's bud+ from like 7 years ago which still work fine.
Tbf that's still good as new because that's how Sony was sending them out new lol

How hard was to replace the battery? Do you need to solder the battery?

Not necessarily, I got a pair of XM4s from them last year and they had the famous battery issue. Which is on Sony really
Same here. I basically had to chuck them out because the issue basically made them completely useless. No other earbuds I've owned from Samsung/Apple/Jabra has failed that hard.

The batteries are easy to replace, no soldering required - the battery connection is held by double-sided tape. I used a heat gun to get the plastic shell hot enough that they were slightly uncomfortable to hold on to. Then I used a bar clamp perpendicular to the seam to compress the shell which caused the shell to separate - at that point they can be carefully separated without more tools and not leave a mark. I used E-8000 glue to to glue everything back together, this glue holds the buds together well and makes it easy to disassemble again if needed.
One issue is that the the Bluetooth antenna and button share the same connector, and the connectors do not physically latch. The connection relies on simple touch and is very susceptible to contaminants. The symptoms are phantom button presses and poor Bluetooth connections- temperature can affect this issue. I had to re-dissemble my right bud and blast QD electronic cleaner under the board glued into the outer shell.
I did this 2 years ago and the buds still work well, though I did get some Secondipity XM5s for my daily drivers. I'm on my second set of Secondipity XM5s, the first started with solid connection, then started having longer and longer interruptions, then would completely disconnect a couple times during my walks. My second set had one day of solid connection and now has a few interruptions during my walks. I had my first set for 6 months, and I've had my current set for 3 months.

I bought these a few months back from this same seller at this price and I would do it again. The headphones, case, and accessories all came looking brand new and the battery capacity seems brand new as well. The only thing you don't get is the original packaging.

XM5 or XM4? -- the title says XM5, but the description/body of the listing says these are XM4.

UGH. i didnt think about replacing the battery. I tossed mine out months ago after not using it for over a year b/c of the battery/charging issue.

It's xm5, I received mine yesterday. They must have just copy/pasted the description.

As good as this deal is, check your local Walmart. There was a thread about these earbuds are currently on clearance. The app didn't tell me that my store had any left in stock, but I went there anyway and scored the last one for $113.99! How could I say no? The conversation I had with my wife after buying them, well, that's a different story. LOL

Got a pair at my local Walmart of these on clearance for $115 a couple weeks ago. Easily worth that. Great sounding. I've seen them at other Walmarts on clearance but for a little more. Also some Sony portable speakers at a great deal on clearance.
