Do not get this. Chamberlain charges a subscription for free smart home connectivity on Brands like Genie. Go buy the Genie 1-1/4 Hp bundle for the same price at Lowes, and they offer installation for only $99 extra. It takes like 2-3 hours to install this and all the remotes by yourself...

There's no charge for the app with chamberlain. We use it all the time and it works great. I had this installed but skipped the video keypad. Installed a standard keypad instead

So, the MyQ functionality does not require a subscription? You can use the app on your phone to see the status of the door, and to open and close it, with no sub? Cause even the Costco website has a review saying that a sub is required...

And if not that, then what the heck does the subscription provide?

this is why you don't trust reviews or comments in forums...

subscription is for camera monitoring and features.

Just be aware that if you use a rooted phone, the Myq app will not let you login to view status, etc. I did manage to find a workaround for mine after being so pissed but I'm good now. I replaced a perfectly fine Genie with a Chamberlain 2 weeks ago and TBH, the Genie is quieter. Just went with the Chamberlain due to most professional garage door people recommend them.

All is not lost though in my case because I put the Genie on my unattached garage out back. Just wrapped that project up today and me likes ;-)

There is no charge for subscription to have your smart devices open and close the door. The subscription that I recall is to have other services (delivery ) be able to open and close the door and I believe you can add cameras with the subscription. I haven't pay anything for 3 years now.

How does this compare to the Genie deal at Lowe's? I get military at Lowe's so I also get 10% off the sales price on the Genie.

How I should get $99 installations? I see it $179
