200 maybe a deal, 300 could get a i5 nowadays

In store also 299
Proves my point: Both of those i5 have a lower performance than this Core 3. Then you take a hit on RAM or SSD size or both. These are deals from 3 to 6 months ago and don't invalidate the current Costco deal.

An i5 may not necessarily perform better than this Core 3. Care to share a link so we can compare?

Slightly more RAM, storage and 1080p resolution make it somewhat a deal compared to what you normally find in $350 range even open box at bestbuy, and this is new. Missing touch for me though. I wonder what original or prior sale price was at costco?

For the same price there's a 15" HP it has touch screen but only 8 gb ram and 256 SSD. What other differences between these two? I'm not so versed in the latest specs.

Passmark for this is pretty good, surprisingly. If I needed a computer for general use, I'd get this. Might even be nice hooked up to a TV.

The one you linked is only 768p resolution on a larger screen, so it won't look very sharp. I'd personally go with the Costco one

$350. So not much of a deal.

And a slower processor too. The only feature the Best Buy laptop has over the Costco one is a touchscreen. And you give up in every other spec (CPU, memory, storage, nonbacklit keyboard, low screen resolution) to get it. Not worth it at all.

Data sheet says "Memory slot not user accessible ". Usually you can upgrade Ram on these. Anyone pick one up and try?
