If anyone has an older Dyson with battery issues, you are MUCH better off getting a Ryobi battery converter for your Dyson. They are cheap, easy to install, and work great.

Two of my Ryobi stick vacs died so I gave up on them. Bought a $15 adapter, installed it on my Dyson v7, and now I can use my six Ryobi 4ah HP batteries on my Dyson. It breathed new life into my dead Vacuum.

The Dyson batteries weren't Li-Ion for a long time (not sure about now), so they because trash quickly. With a Ryobi adapter, you get interchangeable batteries and lithium ion too for cheap.
That statement would not be correct.

Curious. Could I return the batteries for refund in this deal. I bought three vacs. One for each college student and one for garage. But I'm overflowing with batteries. I could easily return one set.

Not the op deal, since it is in a kit. But buy this deal below

https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI...1026276688

Add the free vacuum stick and return the battery and pay the vacuum stick at a pro rated price.

Any experience with these? We have an old Dyson that partner wants replaced. I already have several Ryobi batteries but does this think suck good?
I have another recommendation for you: Buy a Dyson to Ryobi (or whatever power tool you have) converter. You can stick powertool batteries in your Dyson for extra max runtime.

It's heavier with 4ah batteries. Definitely heaver than the cheaper stick vacums but at least it stands up straight on it's own. Things that broke on us were the plastic piece that makes it stand on it's own and the wheels. Thats why you see people selling 3d printed replacement wheels. The plastic canister can get cracked easily. The motor is the only good thing about it. It does use a lot of battery at the high setting. I suggest the low setting for hard surfaces. Direct Tools has the reconditioned (non HP) 2ah battery, charger, and vacuum for $90 once in a while but the last time I ordered it from them they had no packing in the box at all so the canister was cracked. Returned for a full refund.I'm thinking about trying generic stick vacs that use Dewalt batteries. They are like $50 and generic dewalt batteries are cheaper than the Ryobi generic batteries.
The hook on my vac's canister broke on the first day after it dropped on the hardwood floor. The plastic is brittle and thin for pro vacs. I ended up getting the LG stick from Costco instead — it costs twice as much, but it's also way more powerful.

Donot have any Ryobi tools to start with and sold the last set I had and switched to Brushless 12v. It this a good deal or lukewarm deal to start with the free tool and HP batteries . Eyeing the brad nailer as the free tool or you all suggest waiting for better deals to come by . In need of a nailer and debating between this combo or the metabo from Lowes for 129 (tool & 2Amp battery)

This is a decently good deal; I bought it last year to go along with my other Ryobi tools.

If you're going to start down the path of collecting tools, I think it makes sense to settle on a brand/ecosystem and not have a random collection of tools, batteries, and chargers for various brands. And for a homeowner/hobbyist, you can't go wrong with Ryobi for the price.

The hose that goes down to the vacuum head split after 6 months for me. I wouldn't advise getting this

I got this deal about two years ago. I am still very happy with this vacuum. I would give it an 8 out of 10 for the floor and 5 for carpet. It is pretty easy to clean but jams up pretty good with pet hair. My kids can use it pretty effectively as well. I would recommend this over a Dyson that would cost twice as much if not more.
