Has Amazon sent you an order you did not place and refuse to cancel it and then charged you for it?

I had this happen to me. A duplicate of an order that was placed and filled a couple weeks previously had been made by Amazon's system without my knowledge, no conformation of an order being placed. When I was notified it was being shipped I contacted Amazon and explained I did not place the order and they said they would try to cancel it.... but when I asked for the tracking information, I was told there was none and to just take a screenshot of the conversation. Anyways... they delivered the items that I did not order and my account was charged for it. I gave them a few days to reverse the charge and they failed to do so.
I am now dealing with my bank to contest this charge and reverse it, as Amazon claimed to my bank (credit card) it was valid.
If this is an experience that others have had, it may be a good step to look into a class action lawsuit.

If Amazon customer service denied you the right to keep it and get a refund, I would simply return it. You might be able to exercise your right to keep something you did not order but if Amazon refuses and you charge them back, they can do things such as ban you, and anyone else at your IP address. New accounts can be snooped out and banned as well. I've seen many horror stories of people getting banned by Amazon.
You did not mention any details about the item or whether it is a non-returnable item. That could matter.
If they won't accept a return, and it is not a cheap item, I understand you pursuing it as much as you can, but you need to understand that there is some risk of being banned.

I did not place the 3 orders that showed in my account from April 6 2025! I did not receive a notification of these April 6 transactions sent to my email. When I saw that they were being shipped I did contact Amazon and was told that Amazon would cancel that order. Obviously Amazon did not cancel the order and when no action was taken I had to contact my bank and told them that I did not make those transactions. I copied the chat I had with the Amazon representative and am providing that below.
JUST TO BE CLEAR I DID NOT PLACE THE ORDERS ON APRIL 6 2025. I CONTACTED AMAZON TO CANCEL IT. AMAZON CHARGED MY ACCOUNT AND DELIVERED THESE UNORDERED PRODUCTS.
