I bought this tablet on Aliexpress a month ago for $220 (its called a Xiaoxin pad pro 2025 there). Its been an amazing tablet. its kinda big but plays games really well the GPU in it is very powerful. the dimensity 8300 is the MediaTek equivalent of snapdragon 8 gen 1 for those wondering. So think older flagship performance.

i can but the seller no longer ships to US so there is no point when i go to my orders it now says "this item cant be delivered to your address" this was all pre tariff stuff no doubt that played a role. Not to mention it is CN rom version but does allow play store. You are much better off just getting this directly from Lenovo at this point yes its $70 more than I paid but you dont have to worry about flashing global rom and every other available listing on AliExpress that ships the xiaoxin pad pro 2025 to US is the same price as this.

Depends a lot on what software you are using. Your favorite iPad app may not have a version for this tablet.
No preference in software. He is under 10 so would be starting from scratch drawing on a tablet. I'd assume Android has various options for drawing apps.

Personally, I think a 12 inch tablet is too big, heavy, fragile for a 10 year old.

I also bought the 12g/256gb version from aliexpress for about the same price as this guy. Bought the official keyboard and pen as well. Did this last month pre-tariffs. Just flashed it from the CN rom to the global rom so it's now an Idea Tab Pro. Works great. Very happy with it

I think that depends more on your connection. Im running Apollo/moonlight on Chromecast/laptop/phone/steamdeck and I'm getting pretty much the same results. 144hz is good since Apollo matches the resolution/frames
no it depends on your connection AND the processor for decoding. which this one actually really sucks. you need atleast a 1-3 generation top of the line processor imo to not feel the lag

For close to this price you can now pick up a 14.6 S8 ultra tab now on eBay. Better screen and CPU.

I'm using a P11 Pro Gen 2. I love it but my kids take it all the time. I really like this deal but noticed this tab does not have an OLED screen. Is there any comparable models that do?

Do you have a recommendation for 12+" tablets for sheet music? I've been looking at options for this but don't want to shell out $300 if I don't have to. Especially if I can print on paper for a fraction of the cost šŸ˜„
I bought the P12 Tab (non-pro version) in Nov 2023 and it's been amazing for sheet music. I got the tab, pen, and keyboard case for about $218 each OTD (two of them) after all coupons and cash back at the time.

I use MobileSheets for my sheet music library ($15 for full version and well worth it--no subscription fees!), and I have a 256GB microSD installed.

If you're going to do basic tasks like sheet music, the non-pro version may save you some bucks. The resolution has been just fine for me. Yes, the iPad pros some of my colleagues have are slightly bigger, faster, and crisper, but not worth it for me at ~5x the price!

This is a big and somewhat heavy tablet. I would want something much smaller for a hand-held e-reader.
