I believe battery is not replaceable on these models. It works great for a couple of years but then battery just doesn't hold charge at all and then it essentially a brick. We have a previous model and I'm about to put it on FB for free in case any enthusiasts is out there with a soldering iron willing to fiddle with DIY battery pack.

It's pretty cool while it works though. Super useful if you have a toddler.

My wife has this dustbastard, uses it all the time and LOVES it. Perfect for small messes or just to tidy up when something gets tracked in on the mat by the door.I emptied the dirt out of it today, took ten seconds and it was back in action!

I have a different model -- also a cheap one: BLACK+DECKER dustbuster QuickClean Cordless Handheld Vacuum (HNVC215B10)

Purchased several years ago after buying the no-name amazon models that stopped working within about 4-6 months due to not holding a charge.
The black and decker has held up well for me, no issues in the several years of having it.. until I lost the charging cable during a move.

I contacted B&D to see if they sell just the charging cable by itself.. and they just sent me a whole new vacuum for free. Both vacuums have continued to work great.. For something like $25 that I paid for it, I've been super happy. It doesn't have all of the attachments that the cheap ones did.. but it still works which is more than I can say about them.

I have one that's probably 30 years old at this point, it still has really good suction, good suction for like 3 minutes straight, dies at 5 minutes

Have two of these.... older models as well. Great vacuums and so far both have been holding up great the past 5-8 years. Great for long hairs and pet hair!

Probably good to scoop up my hair after I shave my back instead of letting the hair just roam around the house

The other "slim nozzle" model on the same page for $45 has a lithium ion battery and lasts much much longer. I've had it at least 7 years and it still holds plenty of charge. We don't have to be careful about plugging it in after every use either.

Really excellent vacuum especially for kids and pets. Super light and easy to move around to do a quick "spot vacuum" without dragging the big guy out. 100% recommend.

Mine would only work for about 15 seconds after 2 years on a full charge. This and other B&D products made me abandon the brand and I wouldn't take this vacuum for free.

Hmm, you're right. Says Li-on. Not sure why people are saying the battery dies after a year or two. That sounds more like the old ni-cad (edit or ni-mh) behavior.

I had this model and I hardly used it cause the suction was poor. I ended up giving it away. I needed better suction for my car and for dog hair.
