Very solid, while its not technically the best, its still a near top of the line gaming CPU for most people at an absolute steal of a price.
For example, the best gaming processor you can buy a 9800x3D ($460 CPU only) is only 8% faster at 1440p with a 4090, 3% at 4k. Only at low resolutions with a flagship GPU (aka unrealistic scenarios for most people) will you really see the difference. The Core Ultra 265k is +50% faster in multithread and is more power efficient, so it pulls ahead in other ways while being cheaper.
The closest comparison at this price would be the 9600X ($210+$80 DDR5) and by far is the 265K the better CPU.
At this price, with free RAM, the 265k is the obvious buy if youre looking for a new build. A lot of old reviews will have been comparing products at MSRP but this is essentially a 50% discount... So it completely changes how you perceive the CPU. If I didnt already have a build from last year, I would be jumping on this personally.

Which motherboards could you recommend? I am OK with atleast M.2 SSD ports, but I need 2 or more SATA ports to add regular HDD's , fast wifi, decent ports etc at a reasonable price
Good deal but I'm scared buying from Newegg, remember they been selling refurbished and even not working products as new, once you send them back for refund they claim you break it and keep the money and the product, multiples reports everywhere, reviews Google Reddit YouTube you name it, I just don't wanna be the next one.
I'd be wary, they sold me an "open box" that was clearly used. There was literally still thermal paste IN the socket, and some of the m.2 heatsink plastic was already peeled. Oh and it is missing the wifi antenna.
Yeah. Newegg was great in the early 2000s but has gone downhill significantly over the years. Nowadays, I don't buy any computer parts from Newegg. May be the tax software but that's safe enough. I am lucky to have a microcenter close by so I just go there for my computer parts needs. Never thought I would say this but I miss fry's as well.

I presume Best Buy would be lax on returns, but they rarely have the best deals on components compared to NewEgg/Amazon.
Is Amazon Lax on Computer Parts Returns? I know for most items they are lax.
MicroCenter is likely a safe place to buy to know you are not getting "Fake New"....but also they are mostly "In Store Only" for their best deals and most folks don't have access to a local store. I'm thanking my lucky stars I know have one 2.5 hours away....I actually took my Teen on a Field Trip there just to look around.

Not that big of a deal for me as I always have spare gpu's around from old builds. I'm still on an 11700kf, I usually end up buying the "waste of silicon" chips according to reviews because my time frame for building new always line up with them.
