No. This is a Chinaman set in an acrylic display case, and if you need a deep socket, you'll have to pay more than this for another 1/4" set that comes with them. It tops out at 9/16", but you can surely find a 9/16" or 14mm fastener that's stuck good enough to break most any 1/4" ratchet. What you want is a 3/8" set, but since you aren't exclusively working on cars, you probably do want SAE sockets along with the "filler" items like screwdriver bits (including 1/4" *nut drivers*) and hex keys. You're more likely to run into a situation where you need to step up to a 1/2" ratchet than step down to 1/4".

Depending on how you feel about lugging the actual case around, this really is the ideal situation for one of those "xxx pieces for $xxx" sets, where the correct "x" for you is totally subjective, and you will eternally run into situations where you need to buy more and better tools in the future no matter how big "x" is. And you'll eventually learn what was "filler" for your purposes. I'm sure some will pop up around here for Father's Day.
