that's wild! so generous of them to give you a 4080 at a 5080 price.

Yep. Agreed. But right now finding a 5080 at MSRP is tough if not darn impossible. So sometimes you gotta go with what is available ...

Been trying to get a 5080 FE for 1k for 2 months and no luck. I'll settle with a 4080S, seems like a reasonable deal considering how difficult it is to get the new series right now.

newegg has a 5070 shadow for $620 with DOOM. IMO a better buy than the 4070 super

I think this is more of a user preference for the FE cards. Certainly agree that overall it might be a better value.

I do like the FE cards for smaller builds. I have 2 NUC Extremes and the FE cards work so well.

If you want to risk it Newegg has an open box gigabyte 5080 for 1300.

Can you believe the chutzpah!?!?!? Selling a previous-gen GPU at the original MSRP and the 5080 MSRP… not even a discount

it doesn't seem that bad considering how terrible the market is right now. 4080S still beats the 5070ti and in certain instances by good margins from the tests I've seen. I guess the only downsides are the lack of the 50 series features though I think the 40 series will eventually get most if not all features idk.

Nvidia is such a disgusting company. I'll settle with AMD and hope and pray Intel can continue to improve their GPU division.

Nvidia, make sure to learn your history. There was a time that Intel believed they had no competition and treated their customers like sh1t.

Been a life long AMD guy, but went w a 4070 ti super most recently and it's been fine I guess. I sold it after watching nvidia do everything they did w the 5xxx release and i'll never buy another nvidia card for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, AMD's not much better.
Who would have thougt Intel would be the hero we all needed?

Surprised no one is mentioning that this isn't the regular 4080 and 4070, but the super edition variants. It's not that bad of a deal especially when you consider most everything else is not available at msrp.

5080 is <10% uplift over 4080 super. Only a fool would pay for a 5080 over the 4080 super right now, unless you get a 5080 fe
