No. Reverse Osmosis has a specialized membrane that removes basically all impurities and reduces TDS to near zero. This won't reduce TDS but does filter fluorides, sediment, heavy metals, VOCs, chlorine, and taste/odors. So if your incoming water has a "safe" amount of TDS (<500ppm), then this would be a good filter to produce bottled-quality water.
It looks like a Reverse Osmosis filter...
It's priced like a Reverse Osmosis filter..
But it doesn't work like a reverse osmosis system. It's a stupid product designed to be sold to uninformed consumers...Now that you're informed, you know not to buy this gimmick.

Serious question: what RO system are you talking about that is priced at <$150 with quality components and filters that don't cost $100+/yr to replace?
You can barely buy the individual generic housings for $100, let alone filters, supply lines, and a faucet. I think the water drop filter housings are universal, so any brand will fit which means you can also buy different types of filters depending on your specific needs (I.e. if you don't need to reduce TDS but need to address iron/manganese, you can get a filter for that instead).
