Can anyone recommend a good rod to pair with this for bass?

I picked 2 up from walmart delivered, they arrived this morning and one was a completely different reel in the classic pro packaging. I can't find this model number? CSS1H? unless the s's are 5's. It just says Classic on the side, not classic pro. it had a 6:4:1 (I think) retrieve. The reel itself had already been opened and put back in the blister pack. The spool also didn't have holes in it, which is what I noticed immediately. I'll chaulk that up to a return that they resold as new. The retrieve didn't feel smooth either, even though it looked new..... Packed it back up for fedex to pick up.

Looks like maybe someone did a switcharoo. I did look it up and it says it a classic. The feeling that it reels different is an issue for me. Any wear? Remove spool to see if any dirt/grit from use.... Keep the good one. The other might not be bad to keep either...

But these are not high end reels that you just have to keep because they were great deals.

This is the Toyota Corolla in baitcasters.
I love it; I've been using it for years.
Robust, reliable, easy to maintain and does the job pretty well.

If I am right handed do I use a right hand retrieve or a left hand retrieve? This would be my first bait caster reel.

Just to make sure I'm not going crazy: The picture is wrong on this, right?
As in, the deal is on the right-handed version.

Yeah it felt like the reel was not smooth. Since the model didn't match the package im sure someone swapped their old reel for a new one then did a return. I stated such and they gave me a fedex label, and scheduled a pickup, which is pretty sweet. They also just delivered a replacement (the right reel this time)

So if you are right handed, do you hold the rod with right hand and reel in with your left hand? If yes then you need left hand retrieve.
