I got one within the last week and it's Type 1. Still worked fine for me though.

I have this (maybe the first generation) and I love it. I have a full size compressor but always go to this for airing tires, filling up pull toys, etc. Works well and last a while on battery.

I use mine almost daily. Ordered a month ago, shipped from/sold by Amazon, delivered April 28th, and it was a Type 2… but some people have reportedly received Type 1 since then.

It's a million times better than my previous inflator. If you have to use it often I recommend Skog Chuck Mates Speed Clip for inflators so you don't have to thread the chuck on/off every time you use it.

It's on the rear label of the device itself, to the right of the "DCC020IB" model number. Of course, that means opening it.

If the box has "20V Max" at the upper right, there's a good chance it's Type 2, but maybe not if they have resumed making Type 1. Most (all?) Type 1 units have "20V Max" in a box on the left, half-way down and places next to the boxes that show 12v lighter and optional AC power.

Had one forever and use it a lot. If it died tomorrow I would buy the exact same one at this price.

Works well from bike tires to truck tires and huge tractor tires. Never had an issue.
In comparison my FILs Ryobi does ok with bike and car tires but overheats with big truck and tractor tires.

I also like the versatility and speed of the inflatable output. The thing you use for rafts aired and such.

I own this and also agree that it's been great. If you are in the DeWalt battery ecosystem it's a no-brainer.

Hands down the best 20V tool DeWalt makes. Own two--one for emergencies in the back of the truck, and the second in the garage for everyday use.

Best feature is the high-altitude adjustment to maintain proper pressures. Very useful.

Yeah, I saw that before I posted this. Walmart one is sold by a third party seller named The TOOL GUY with 4 reviews and 4/5 ⭐️.

So do you keep a LiION battery with it in the car? I have one and love it but don't want to keep it for emergencies since I don't want to ruin my Dewalt batteries.

I have one of these. Well worth full price and even better if on sale. I use it all the time and take it whenever we go out of town
