Don't think so, I think it's actually like a $5 bonus for Red Card holders since you don't also get the 5% Red Card when using the GC. That's why the real win for the gift card deals is the 10% bonus up to $500 when Discover has the 5% Target CB around the holidays.

Doesn't the inability to use the 5% discount with the gift card negate the benefit of getting an extra 5% when you buy it?
