Plus, if the leaked footage of the cancelled Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun [wikipedia.org] game is any indication, I don't want a sequel--all of the wonderful writing and voice acting was gone from the cancelled sequel.

This post is for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 (Remastered). The free Blood Omen games above play nothing like these. Blood Omen 1 is a PlayStation 1 game that is kind of like a dark, gothic Zelda-like game similar to the SNES or NES Zelda games. Blood Omen 2 is more similar to the Soul Reaver games, but lacks the story, voice acting, gameplay, and fun of the ones in this deal.
Story-wise the Legacy of Kain franchise goes Blood Omen 1, Soul Reaver 1 & 2, & Defiance. Blood Omen 2 is not part of the story because it takes place in some alternate timeline or dimension. It's really the black sheep of the whole series and completely skippable if you want.
