I have the s90 77. Died on me right at the 4 month mark. Having Samsung come and fix it soon. Apparently it's a pretty common issue. I think it's just with the 77s. Google "s90d 77 power supply" and you'll see the posts on reddit and members
I have owned only 2 OLED TVs and both of them have been LGs. My post was not coming from a place of any bias, but rather what the "general consensus" is after seeing all of the TV reviews for these TVs - which is that the S90D typically gets the nod over the C4.

Beautiful picture, got one at Greentoe for 1789, unfortunately 8 days after receiving the power supply broke and it won't turn on. Notified Samsung and hopefully will be fixed this Wednesday. It's a common problem, knew about it before I bought it but figured it wouldn't happen to me. Been buying Samsung everything for years, don't know why they haven't recalled these. I hope it's a one time thing

why are big TVs going down in price but not smaller ones? that price for a 42 is absolutely insane, wtf, should be 2-300 max.

LG members store with additional 10% off Code makes it about 1k more.
Needs to be within a few hundred for the quality difference

Same this happened to my frame. Both Samsung and LG are well know for cost cutting. Especially on flagship lines. I used to work at a LG warehouse: the amount of reworks they did on already boxed products was unbelievable. They would ship it covered in shit if was cheaper and they could get away with it.

Most everyone uses LG panels but Sony has better processing and quality control.

The Bravia A95L is typically considered the best picture quality OLED. Check Rtings.

The G5 might give them a run for their money though. Will see. Sony has the Bravia 8 II now as well.

Display manufacturing costs are not directly proportional to screen size. It's not like pricing a cookie-cutter spec home based on cost per sq/ft. A 42" TV has a display area 70% smaller than that of a 77" TV, but it is nowhere near 70% cheaper to manufacture. Both OLED displays require the same complex manufacturing process and producing smaller displays can actually be more cost-prohibitive. Also, manufacturers generally don't produce many TVs in the 40-inch range, which drives up the cost.

Absolutely not. G4 is phenomenal and definitely better. Question is, you can get a g4 for a thousand more. Is it worth the price difference, prob not. S90d is good enough.
what about the LG C4? theres also a deal on that one and its a bit cheaper than this samsung

I just picked up the frame from the Target deal. There are a lot of negative comments about the power supply burning out. I found a reviewer who said Samsung is notorious for not venting the power supply to save space. So if you turn up the brightness you will burn the system out. The only way to be safe is to turn on ECO mode. For how much these products cost it is terrible that you can not get the most out of them because they cut corners.
