I went with the Bosch 2.6000-Gallon 7 HP Cordless Wet/Dry Shop Vacuum as my free item, it is $99 right now but that is only because it is on sale. It is $149.00 on Amazon for example.

Bought two Bosch 1/2 drivers as backups in my cars off SD. Both batteries quit within a month of owning them and I never even used them. They don't light up to charge. Told a half dozen people about the clearance deal as well. Several of them had bad batteries. Lowe's tool dept seems to think that's why they went on clearance. Hopefully, like FLEX and several other manufacturers, they upgraded their battery quality.

I have it pretty nice not crazy suction but used it to remove water out of a toilet and other stuff like clean the car..

A few times a year Lowe's have these deals where you buy the Bosch batteries and you get a free tool. It's usually 179 but has been 159 before. They also have another BOGO tool with the 8ah battery

two 8ah battery bogo (no charger): https://www.lowes.com/pd/Bosch-PR...5013569709

How long ago was this?

I was also burned by a couple of bad 4AH batteries that were pack-ins with some Bosch tool sales a few years ago.

Since then I've noticed the 4AH have had a clear redesign, but can't find consistent info online for when people have encountered the bad batteries and when/if they stopped.

These Bosch batteries are so expensive. I'd be happy to transition to Bosch 18v but everyone else has much better prices on batteries. And the Ridgid LSA on batteries is tough to beat.

That's incredibly disappointing to hear. I picked up the combo kit from SD at Lowe's about a month ago. I have Bosch drill with 2 2MAh batteries from probably 12-14 years ago and those batteries are still nearly as strong as they were when new. It sucks that the quality has went down hill. I really hope I don't have the same issue you did when the batteries in the new kit.
