I am of the same thought process with CSGO and stuff. The ultra competitive gaming professionals with those 480hz monitors, even though I don't think its humanly possible to really see and take advantage of the FPS over 200
The main benefit of the 9800X3D isn't the averages, it's the 1% lows.
I play warzone at 3440x1440 160hz with competitive settings and with my old 5800X3D I would frequently dip below my locked 157fps in gunfights which would introduce some VRR stutter. With the new 9800X3D I can maintain 157fps locked and never dip below that. It makes gameplay much smoother.
