I am still on the hunt I guess - I want one that can cool & heat my shop. I'm in the middle of doing insulation and walls, and my little window unit is obviously not going to cut it. What's the best unit out there right now for heating and cooling a small shop. I really don't care if it's split, windows, or portable. Just want a steal on a unit that will do the job and hopefully not croak after a year's worth of use.
They make a version of this with heat. However, you are going to be paying $5-600. Much better to just get this and add a space heater. Or you could always just run this without hooking up the hose to a window and it will heat the room. The vents will still blow cold air but the air coming out of the exhaust will be far hotter.

anyone know how to get a 59" vent hose? I did research and this one and most that are 2-in-1 are 47" and due to specifics of my room layout, it does not reach the window.

Inverter model doesn't mean it will use less electric when outputing max cooling power than it's non-inverter counterparts, just that it has the ability to run cooling at lower power levels when full cooling power isn't needed. 1300w is correct. Scroll back a few pages, someone hooked it up to a wattage meter and did some tests.
I think you responded to the wrong person. I'm just looking for a model that has heat.

Take care.

Do you have the link for the woot version with heat?
https://sellout.woot.com/offers/m...table-ac-1

I believe that was it. It's out of stock now. Of course, the Woot site is such a complete mess. It's impossible to navigate and if ever find what you were looking for. I absolutely hate them 😃

Personally I wouldn't have bothered at three hundred dollars. At 200 I might have considered the gamble. A ton of horror stories about dealing with them...

You could have something like this printed to convert it to regular hoses. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6177103

Mine was delivered today from eBay.
. Unit came well packaged in a box that says "Refurbished". All accessories are packaged nicely but the unit itself has water spots on it. Will test it for few days. From what I can say, these are not brand new.

I have one of these, it's unplugged at the moment so this is off of memory, but you're looking at about 250-300 watts on low, around 770 watts on medium, and I rarely ever used it on high, but I think it was between 1100 to 1200 watts.

It can also peg around 450-480 watts periodically when settling down from medium to low or when first kicking into low when the compressor surges, and then levels out at around 250-300 watts.

Medium is pretty capable of bringing my living room/kitchen area which is around 400sq ft or so I'd say with other rooms doors shut, from 85 degrees to 76 or so within 30 minutes to an hour.

YMMV depending on your area, it's generally in the high 70's to low 80's outdoor temps here at the moment, but it can reach 95+ in the middle of summer, so I can't comment on those sorts of conditions just yet.

Fan speed settings more or less control compressor load along with it on these units. If you set the fan to low, expect the 250-300 watt load range, medium upper 700 watt range, high over 1K watts. So you can't have for instance just the fan on low and the compressor running at full load, or the fan on high and the compressor at its lowest load, these aren't actually 'smart'. Ceiling fans or floor standing fans will certainly help to distribute the cold air throughout more than one area/room.

Since temps aren't that high yet I generally just have mine in low all the time with continuous fan mode, so when the compressor turns off entirely, the fan still runs at a load of 10 to 12 watts to help with any moisture accumulation in the tank.

If my asshole cats unplug it and the house heats up into the mid 80's I'll run it on medium until it gets down to 76-77 and switch it back to low.

When I get it plugged in again I'll correct any errors I might have made, I put a U-shaped window unit in the living room cause I'm less concerned about my cats messing with that, and will be moving the portable to my bedroom and can recheck the load then.
How do you enable continuous fan mode without the compressor staying on 24/7?

put it in low/med/high fan mode instead of auto and the fan speed will remain constant regardless of compression on/off

Hold the fan button for 3 seconds and you should get a 2nd LED indicator where it says "Cont." to show continuous mode is on. There is also an option in the settings of the Smart Home app if you have it connected to enable the continuous fan option.

Nice, it's back on ebay, and they took $225 offer.
Any recommendations for a glass sliding door adapter kit for the exhaust that's solid and maybe still allows locking?
