"Solid deal on a good hose!" That's what she said...

Seriously though, not to rain on this thread, but the average price for this seems to be around $70—at least, that's what Home Depot [homedepot.com] and Lowe's [lowes.com] are selling it for.

I'm sure you could find a better deal with a little effort, such as using promo codes or cashback site shenanigans. I guess it's a decent deal if you prefer Amazon or have some Chase Prime points to spend.

Ideally, you'd want to wait until fall or winter to snag these types of items on sale or clearance, but I realize that's not an option for everyone—sometimes you need a big, long, large hose right now. Again, that's what she said...

Is the Gorilla ToughLite hose basically the same product in a different color?

They seem very similar.

Seriously the best hose. I've had so many hoses. This one is great, no issues over summer/winter, staying outside all year round, and has outlasted every single hose ive ever hosing had. A+

Sadly I don't need anymore. I have several of different lengths already.

Sears used to make some really good stuff. We still use a sump pump from the 90s.

I have two that are at least 15 years old. If they were still available, they would be the only hose I would buy.

Anyone know of a lead-free hose that would be good for the garden?

Is this still prone to mold stains?

Yeah, those were the best. I also liked that they didn't have hose faucet sleeve, so you can connect them together. Paired with a Gorilla aluminum hose reel, it's an awesome kit. The closest I found is the Briggs & Stratton black garden hose. I would also pick up some silicone hose gaskets (vs the std rubber)... they appear to hold up better in the heat; and if you want to splurge, some quick release connectors to move from faucet to faucet and swap out spray nozzles in two seconds.

i highly recommend trying one of these if either of you have a need for another.. idk if they will last 10 years, but mine are on year 4 and look like they are brand new. the material/structure they have is hard to explain, but they really are as close to kink proof as i can imagine. my only gripe is the color. they make other colors but they are absurdly priced just to get another color.

Are you planning on drinking water out of it?

If you are just watering your plants, it is almost certain that there is more lead in the soil than there will be in water coming out of the end of the hose.

This is what I really don't like about these hoses. They are bright clean green and after a season is covered in a blackish stain. is it mold?
