Such a beast of a machine. Almost wish I could justify it
I got the pro version of this. My cpu and gpu are barely utilized on the pro. The ram definitely made a difference for me.

I would strongly look at any software you are planning to run before spending extra on the max. It not only cost more but your battery will take a hit.

I really wish microcenter carried more silver versions because that space gray might look nice when you buy it but almost all of the videos I have seen with any long term use have chips off finishes near the ports and multiple scratches that you wouldn't notice on the silver.

So low on the creativity., An easy fix with a gray/black colored marker… similar color touch up paint. The best answer would be learn how to take better care of your belongings. 5 years of daily use w/ my Dark gray 2020 MacBook Air, no chips, dings, ect…

You can literally just turn off Windows updates... it's never going to forcefully reboot while working lmao
Not a good advice. Never turn off OS updates.

Obviously a bait post, but you're a decade too late to the party. The last Apple laptop I upgraded was a 17" maybe 20yrs ago to have a solid-state.
Obviously a bait product and a baited user.
.
Because you don't upgrade a product then that is what the rest of us do correct? Because you can't build or repair your own computer then the rest of us are unable to either.
wow, tell me more.
.
this is exactly why i left the Fruit company years ago. now i use Lenovo think pads and even they are getting back to sanity to enable repairs.
.
what is so 'Crazy' concerning the issue of Computer Repair? did the Fruit Company tell you that only stupid people would bother to upgrade and repair a $3300 machine?
.
please people think this through and come back without the Blinders on.

thank you. 🙄

Yep, used Macs forever, but had a lot of problems with them. I ended up getting a cheap, refurbished Latitude and it had ports, a nicer keyboard by far, and I was able to upgrade the RAM and SSD. If you want 1TB in a Mac, you will pay through the nose. It's too bad.

My Apple hardware over 30 years had lots of problems. I used to be a crazed fanboy for Apple, but switched to Windows laptops (mainly Latitudes) and zero problems over the last several years. Used them at work and hated them until they got much better and realized they just worked. I have several laptops now running Windows, ChromeOS, ChromeOS Flex, Linux. Apple puts a nice shine on their products, but don't see the reliability there. Some of the problems were just fixed, like hinges back in the late 1990s.

Sure, but the comment was saying how he hates windows because he's "forced into updates when I'm hoping to work" and prefers Mac for this reason.
You can just turn off forced updates.. and the update prompt will be identical whether it's Mac or Windows

same here. i used to be with the Fruit Company, but realized they blocked many attempts at practical stuff i could do with Windows equipment.
so now i buy Dell and Lenovo refurbished. i5 and 8the generation is all i need; my EDC is a Dell OptiPlex refurb from Dell's used place. if you get the right refurbs they just keep on trucking; my refurb place also does Fruit company for a fraction of new price.
if money no object, then throw it away. the Fruit company can use it as profits may be down this year.
