Don't buy these, they suck. Slow performance and unstable connection. I've tried using these 3 times already and never was able to successfully copy my data over completely.

Had to return two Orico enclosures due to poor performance. Maybe just me but thought I'd share.

If you don't need the sata function, spend the dollar more and get the one that actually has the heatsink on the outside.

It's not the drive. The drive works perfectly fine when slotted in the motherboard and also works fine in a different enclosure.
Update the firmware.

Orico is notorious for never changing their ancient 2019? firmware.

okay, but then what is better ???

PS. you don't give any creditable examples of why or how it "sucks"

Thermal management is a problem especially during large transfers since NVMe burns ore power than SATA in my experience.

I've found that passive cooling isn't enough even with a heat sink enclosure case and I point a USB fan at the enclosure for reliable operation when the SSD is being stressed.

Yea the sustained writes really heat up many drives, for those drives I just zip tie a large nvme heatsink in place of the lid heatsink. The larger the better for pure convection airflow.
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...31855.html is cheap, can be 5 or less when on sale.
