It's as dangerous as the person using it is stupid. You can't draw 30amp loads across a 15amp adapter and not expect it to melt. That's double the load it's rated for. There is no "magic" in the adapter that defies the law of physics. I would suspect in all of those burned pictures someone has tried to run their RV air conditioner and all of the other appliances and lights at the same time. These are the same people who try to plug 8 strings of Christmas lights into the same circuit and can't understand why the circuit breaker keeps tripping.

If electrical products scare you, you may want to see if your local community college has course work available to get better educated and comfortable with the tech. This isn't rocket science but yah you could hurt yourself without some very basic education. this is a great brand, great products, no issue.

Might be something to look into as I would like to do some rewiring in the house but want to make sure it's up to code.

It doesn't really scare me but I was just thinking a long the lines of a 30A device pulling 15A from an outlet would either trip the outlet constantly or overload it.

You're correct. This meant to draw 15 amps with a 30amp RV plug. Maybe you want to charge your battery or keep the fridge running.
