In for one because I love audio and bad with money.

I've heard the XM5 have excellent noise cancelling, the noise cancelling here is just "ok". Benefit to these Yamahas is the excellent Yamaha sound quality and AptX Adaptive if you have supported hardware and want to game with them, with the advantage of Low Latency. I use them specifically with my Logitech G Cloud hardware that supports AptX Adaptive.

These xm5 aren't worth the price so far. Likely will return. Ebay. Also i used both for work and sleep and gym. Noise canceling was about the same with the xm5 being slightly worse for me. I even tried different ear tips. Im around Noisey machery at work and snoring people when I sleep.
