200 calories for just 15grams... They have no excuse to not be tasty with macros that bad

Agreed but I think other "soft" protein bars have similar macros. And they're, in fact, not that bad. The peanuts contribute to the calories a bit more than they need to but honestly these bars will sustain you pretty well and get the job done for the price. Bake your own dry bars if you want to lock in decent macros lmao

I wouldn't mind if they put a few grams of it but 10g is excessive. Why not just add in 3g of sugar like they do in peanut butter?

Protein powder is half the price and 50% more protein.

How anyone would pay more than a buck for any protein bar is mind-blowing
Protein bars are more convenient if you're out and about and need to supplement protein - like if you're going out for lunch or dinner.

But only 15g protein for 200 calories isn't great. Pure Protein bars are ~19g protein for 180 calories.

The first study was alarming but ambiguous, the second study fleshed it out. Both easily accessible.
You'd be hard-pressed to say either of these studies "fleshed out" the subject of whether erythritol is actually dangerous to humans, let alone in reasonable amounts. Even in the study you're probably talking about, the actual hazard ratio of erythritol being the cause of adverse events is probably exponentially lower than dozens of things that the average human being does on a daily basis. Slickdeals is such a weird place for fear mongering and misapplication of "science" these days. Erythritol is also a substance produced by your own body, so studies that show a correlation between adverse events and blood erythritol levels are just as likely to be reverse causation.

Not a fan of these at all. I have no idea how people are saying these taste great. One of the most tasteless things I have ever eaten, not awful they just have 3 different textures and zero taste!

Not who you replied to but David Bars (expensive), Barebells have better macros. That said, it's really not a big deal to have 5 less grams of protein. The point of bars is convenience not to build your diet around them. This is a great deal at less than $1 per bar.

I just got the peanut ones, they are great. they aren't amazingly different than any other protein bar but they don't taste terrible for the macros.

Yeah these aren't protein bars or diet bars, they are decent balanced macro bars instead of a candy bar. $1 a bar isn't bad at all.

Atlas Bars are really good imo. They have a deal right now that works out to around $1.40 a bar. Give a box a try. Great macros and a high quality whey protein. Below is PB Chocolate chip but they have a chocolate one too that is super cocoa'y.

people sleep on the Pure Protein bars though, their macros are good and some of the bars have whey and casein as their protein source. People have shunned them because of the artificial sweeteners (which a lot of bars use the same) but if your stomach has no issue like mine does there really isnt a reason to skip those. You can usually get those for a $1 to $1.25 a bar anytime.

Recent studies suggest a potential link between the popular sweetener erythritol and an increased risk of thrombosis, or blood clot formation. Research indicates that consuming erythritol can elevate its levels in the blood, which may enhance platelet reactivity. This makes platelets more likely to clump together and form clots, a key factor in heart attacks and strokes. While more research is needed to fully understand the long-term implications, these findings raise concerns about the cardiovascular safety of this common sugar substitute.
