No personally get a mini LED or an OLED if you're looking for that crisp picture quality with the colors pop
Plasma was high end whenever it came out so something this cheap and large size won't perform as well picture quality wise. If you play video games on it the input lag might be better than TVs of that era. Old plasmas may have better picture response, but input lag which is the time you input a button press to the time it shows on screen should be better nowadays.

Reviewers poop on IPS panels for black levels/contrast. I like IPS panels, and the black levels don't bother me at all. I like the wide viewing angles and colors. VA panels just look duller to me, and whites look dingy. I never bought a plasma because they always looked comparatively dim in store. They're probably fine as long as you don't have other TVs beside it. This tv they're selling here looks like it performs pretty dim too. The best thing to do is to look at one in person to see if you like the picture. Another thing to watch out for is that TVs that sell today have cut way back on video inputs. You are no longer expected to have legacy ports like composite, component, s video, VGA, or analog audio out.

If you want a top tier video image I would expect that to be OLED. I have been admiring the Panasonic Z95A

I have a 65" plasma that is still going strong. However from experience from a couple of others that their power supply goes out, turning it into a paperweight, would this one be a worthy replacement?

You're being too kind. It's bottom of the barrel. The picture quality on these sets is horrendous

My situation. I've got a 2014 plasma that simply looks better than all sub-$1000 4K LED TVs. Now that it's already mounted on my wall, I'm not moving it until I truly get an upgrade.

Looks like I need to wait on a deal for an OLED to get decent blacks.

i still have 2 plasma's as well as the picture quality can't be beat (though obviously we are locked into 1080p). oled is the first thing that is a worthy successor to plasma.

if you need a tv in a hurry the tcl q7 that was on here a bit ago or a decent mini led set would get you by until 60+ inch oleds come down in price.

I found myself binge watching a tv repair youtuber and around 80% of the sets were made by LG.
That included one that was made in 2022!
4 out of the 5 big screen tvs we have are Vizios and most are at least 8-9 years old… never had any issues with them so far.

NEVER buy a LG LED/LCD set.... I've had 3 of them and would never buy one again. After 6-8 months (even on lower usage maybe 3-4 hours 2-3 times a week), the backlights start going. After your warranty is long gone, now 7-8 of them are gone, the screen starts to get dark. Oh and mine was a top of the line LCD they sold, 2019 HDMI 2.1 120hz panel, etc, all the bells you could wish for, and it looks like complete crap now...

I have walked into places where they used them for display, like most of the backlights were gone, asked them how old they were, under 1 year old.

They will not even last a full year before backlights start failing.

Besides this is a 60hz panel only so if you're a gamer, I would avoid this 100%,
