Tervis is a good brand (lifetime guantee on their plastic tumblers) but I wasn't able to find these on their website. Ordered two sets but curious about the lack of info on their website and on the web in general.

Just checked the website. It looks like the stainless tumblers are made in China and shipped from Florida, USA. Lol The plastic ones are still made in US.

Bad reviews and not dishwasher safe. I guess that explains the steep discount.

"Copper lined" How does make a difference compared to others that are not?
I believe the benefit typically claimed when utilizing a layer of copper is that it is better at reflecting heat/radiant energy than stainless steel. Whether or not they are using a significantly thick layer remains to be seen. I also seriously doubt it would come in contact with the beverage, I might assume it is on the inside (backside) of the inner layer.

It automatically signed me up for their membership and charged me $6, is that normal? I already sent a request for cancellation.

In for a set what would not make them dishwasher safe ?
Bought with my AMEX with free returns just in case.

Maybe the tops aren't dishwasher safe? That confused me as well.

Just about all stainless cups will actually turn colors in the dishwasher regardless of made statements. It might be due to day's detergents as I learned the hard way with multiple brands and now only wash the plastic lids in the machine. I wash the bottles by hand.

Triple insulation doesn't make sense to me. Vacuum insulation should suffice, especially if it's good vacuum

Not true for us. We are dish washing our bottles daily. Bottom rack as well since they are so large. Stanley, Thermoflask and Hydroflask. No issues with color or lids all say they are dishwasher safe. Even taking them on trips and washed in in AIRBNB rentals which are varying dishwashers no issues. Some going on 1-2+ years now. I think it depends on the brand for sure. The ones I listed are well made.

Typically this warning is issued on vacuum insulated Items as the extreme heat can break the seal and let air and/or water in seriously reducing the thermal insulative properties. Consider how difficult it would be to make a vacuum sealed item without a seam.
