American Airlines via Expedia (also via American Airlines directly) is offering Roundtrip Flights for Sacramento, CA (SMF) to/from Washington DC (DCA) on sale for $177 with 1 stop both ways. Travel is available on select dates from early-July to early-October, 2025.

I live 2 minutes from Dulles. With that said, I would never fly out of DCA with helicopters flying in to planes and I used to prefer DCA. Even a deal like this won't make me fly out of DCA.

Who would want to go to DC right now? Also, yes, I wouldn't fly going to DCA. DCA is having flight issues and plane issues right now... It's tricky b/c there's a lot of no flight zone around DC so it makes the air space more complicated, and more prone to error, see the recent issues at DCA flights...

Sounds good. But for the other 68,000 people that fly out of and into DCA safely every day, this deal is great.

Unfortunately, some don't have a choice besides DCA over IAD due to some flights are only direct from DCA. Otherwise, we'd have to go to Dallas before going to Tampa for example.
