The key difference between peanut butter and peanut butter spread lies in the amount of peanuts and added ingredients required by the FDA. Peanut butter must contain at least 90% peanuts, while peanut butter spreads can contain less than 90% peanuts and may have additional ingredients like sweeteners, oils, and flavors.

Kroger brand is also just peanuts/salt. Plus their price per ounce is cheaper than Costco. Haven't tried Trader Joe's yet. Unfortunately Aldi brand contains palm oil.
