Heh, yeah why I posted and edited my reply to sound less dickish, as I had said "not not sale, only $9 less than amazon everyday price"
Meh, I guess 9 bucks is 9 bucks, but its not even on sale or anything special.

This doesn't seem like a particularly good deal considering much faster drives (also name-brand) have been available at the same price recently. Am I missing some significant, redeeming quality here?

Agreed, it's very misleading if anything

I would take one of these dogshit no-name SSDs, which are slow, but reasonable. Low TBW, but for the price, can take a gamble. But $200, wtf kind of deal is that? This is what one might expect to spend on Samsung pro, or WD black. In order to be any deal at all, this has to be $150 maximum, for this to be truly SLICK deal, $100

It's actually a perfect drive for people with gen 4x2 slots on their board, as you get essentially the full bandwidth in that slot.

4tb capacity market seems saturated... would take the next bump in capacity to spur sales... either 6 or 8tb drives.

I mean, seriously... I remember this site when it was posting one or two deals a day, sometimes none at all, but each deal was a total steal.

Yea, I stocked up on a lot of the good drives back then so I'm fine, but I've also supplimented with this stuff and its also fine for the less important things. treating them as scratch drives, its really hard to get anywhere close to tbw. As more ymtc production comes online the prices will come down again.

I can't tell where the prices are headed for these nvme drives. One day it's the tariffs, then it's the inflation, and then it's shortages, etc. I can't decide whether I should wait until Black Friday or not. I'm not in a hurry to get this.
