It's super easy to make these extra slick by hacking the butane cartridges to be refillable and take the savings even further by saving your used pads and respraying the with pesticide yourself. Been doing both awhile now with great success and a haven't paid for their overpriced proprietary refills in years.

How exactly do you do it?
What are you refilling pads with?
I can't get refills to work reliably.

The refilled butane cartridges always seem weaker and don't get as hot.
Something about originals using higher vapor-pressure isobutane vs store bought normal butane made for lighters.
