So you are knocking on Samsung tablets because you prefer iOS? Then why bother commenting here if you have no experience or inclination towards actually using it? I personally have the S9 Ultra that I use every day because it is great for media consumption. I understand a big tablet is not for everyone, but there are enough of us out here that appreciate the additional real estate.

What's make you use iPad and not the Samsung?

Let's be honest: when did Android tablets become so expensive? This tablet retails for over $1100, and I couldn't help but shake my head. That's more than a base MacBook Air—a device that not only offers significantly more power but also holds its resale value far better.

In my opinion, $625–700 should be the max retail price, and even then, a "good deal" should come in at under $500. The value proposition just isn't there.

Sure, the demos are flashy. Samsung's multitasking promos always show off tiling with random apps ... maybe I would use revanced YouTube, browser, and Google Maps navigation. But ask yourself: do people actually multitask like that in real life? Most of us don't -we switch between apps full screen or use dual monitors. Even on a laptop with multiple screens, the most I'll do with tiling is run split-browser windows —maybe using Arc Browser, which isn't even available on Android.

Then there's the screen. It's AMOLED, it's vibrant, it's beautiful. But is it color-accurate enough for serious video or photo editing? I doubt it since their phones with premium AMOLEDs aren't. Most Android editing apps just don't compare to full desktop software in terms of control or output. So what are you really getting? A high-saturation media viewer? How is the app eco system for creatives -color accuracy not there, so not good for photographers or video editors. garage band.... for high quality audio creatives-not there.

At the end of the day, this feels like a niche device. If you really love AMOLED displays, I get it. But for that price, I'd rather pick up an older S95 series OLED TV and actually enjoy content on a big screen. For everything else? My phone and laptop already cover it.

the only use case where I see this excelling at is replacing inbuilt entertainment systems in mini vans, SUVs and putting it in a vehicle for rear passengers; and vanlifers who are tight on space. who knows maybe that's the direction for devices like this where the next generation can only afford a tiny home and where space is a premium.

It's more of a broader market question: Why would someone buy a $1000 premium tablet? Apple sells a $1300+ iPad Pro. It's not really that useful compared to a Macbook. I don't think the market for these premium tablets is huge compared to the cheaper mainstream offerings, but it's big enough to justify making them. For me, I do split windows with this tablet, it's one of only tablets big enough where it makes sense (it has a larger display than a 14" MBP). I'm typing this response on a Tab S10 Ultra, with a browser that actually blocks ads.

I know five people who have this device and none of them have connectivity issues. You might want to warranty your device to fix whatever is wrong with it.

I can't get either the shop discount for first time purchase, and am getting $100 less EPP discount - but they are throwing in a slim tablet - so my price comes to $764.99 before taxes.

Can't seem to get it below $700...

If you end up returning this, they charge a 5% restocking fee regardless if you open it or not. However they'll offer a $50~ credit or refund to get you to keep it, or at least they proposed the offer to me.

I had the same experience. However, the rep then sent me an email apologizing for giving me wrong info, and confirmed that it is in fact eligible for trade in ($300). I have the email to send you if you decide to order in case they deny you. Anyhow, no $50 first purchase discount.
can you please send me the email

Watch out for Samsung trade in issues, I ordered a tablet and traded in my old tablet in Dec 2024, and in Jul 2025 received a text stating they would be charging me $800 for a trade in because they had issues resetting the device. I had to call in and get it resolved.

Just be aware. Also they claimed not to have received a watch that had an "empty box" - we had tracking and FedEx wouldn't open a claim stating that it needed to be Samsung and Samsung just said it was FedEx issues.

Basically be aware that Samsung has some major issues with their trade in systems.
