YMMV. What do you guys think of this deal? I am new homeowner and don't have any tools. I had just started and bought the m12 hammer/impact drill + ratchet for $229. Would this be better to get?

Honestly, it's probably overkill unless you have big remodeling plans or plan to build a treehouse.

I would jump on Home Depot's 2-pack battery and charger set + plus 2 free tools.

edit: Not Home Depot. There's a Lowe's deal for two 5aH batteries and charger for $299 and get two free tools with various options to choose from.

FYI, the price is regional on this one and not everyone will have OP's price.

Thanks OP. I upvoted this deal even though it's still $599 for my region. After pricing scores of tool kits on sale and going through SD for previous deals, this one --- even at regular price--- is the best deal in my opinion. Six of the 7 tools are XR (the Saw is 20V max brushless), meaning they are a little more compact and a little more powerful than the 20V Max line-- which is running a FP deal that is $100 less at $499. You do not get XR batteries, but most people don't need them, as they are bulkier and heavier than the 20v max battery. So, for value and performance, I chose this kit over the M18 deals which were comparable in price, but way cheaper than the M18 Fuel combination deals. Obviously cheaper than Makita, which hardly goes on sale.

Those are all brushless? Good deal then. I have the brushed version of this set that I bought for about the same $ five years ago. I've used ALL of the tools for home projects, and plan on using them for future projects too.

Great tools for building a fence or two, btw!

Sorry, not Home Depot. It's a Lowe's deal. Two 5aH batteries and a charger for $299 and two free tools.

Do these bundles come with individually packed tools or all in one?
like could we sell the tools we don't need out of it as new?

Not bad of a deal for the whole set. I would grab it if I didn't have a set already that I slowly bought by buying individual tools, which tends to be more expensive.

I am about to pick up the toolset in an hour, I will let you know. For some reason the deal went back to $599, $~650 after taxes. But today I just clicked on the link and now it's back to $549 at my store. Going to go to customer service and see if they can return the difference to me.

Good to know, I'm picking my first set up! Excited!! Which tools do you use the most? Other than the impact and drill

All of the tools are wrapped in their own plastic bags but are packed within the soft case. The soft case is packed in a appropriately sized large box.

If you think you are going to be taking on some substantial DIY projects then I'd get this set for $450
