I've bought two of these "kits", one from Amazon and one from Harbor Freight. I'd happily pay three times this price per clip: 10/$1, to get little baggies of ones that actually fit the empty holes in my car.
Yep. Unless you have several cars of different makes and models (American, Asian, EU) you're mostly going to be using a few of the sizes and waste the rest. And sometimes it's not even a perfect fit

You can look up the OEM part number and use that as a cross reference to buy them. Still won't be the same quality but they will be the right size at least.

I guess part of the appeal of these kits is that they offer a larger variety giving you higher chances of having the correct clip on hand rather than thinking you've looked up the very specific part number for the clip of your very specific car part that you need to replace the clip for and then it turns out you didn't buy the exact one needed. Sometimes unfortunately you need to buy the clip before you take panels and covers off without giving you a chance to visually inspect the clip to ensure you have the right one or else you're pretty much stuck without a panel for a good couple of days.
Back in a previous life when I did car stereo and alarm installs we used to go through giant bags of these things. 90% of the time when you pop one out it breaks

I bought this yesterday and is a pretty good set for the price, with a bunch of usefull sizes. This are allways good to have not only for convenience but they are expensive at any auto store for a few of them. Good post.

Yeah I need three, not 200 random clips. Sell them in kits of 10, I'm not running an assembly line here.
Just buy some of these and use on anything 100PCS Nylon Universal Cable Tie Buckle 2026 Upgrade Multipurpose Plastic Cable Ties Tool Heavy Duty Self Locking Nylon Zip Ties UV Resistant Black Zipties for Car Daily Repair (20PCS) https://a.co/d/elnHzey
I've had a very similar kit (might be the exact one) for several years. Savings aside, I can't believe how many times it's saved me a trip to the auto parts store.
I bought my set a few years ago after spending 5-6 bucks for a blister pack of TWO clips.
For only $7? The first time you need one (or 10) you'll think you stole something.
You'll be thankful you got this when your fender liner is hanging and you don't have to spend 10.99 in a pinch at autozone for a clip that kinda fits.I used these twice in the past month for the fender liner on my CX-5 and for the mudguard on my Model Y.
Exactly. The point of a kit like this is not that you will use up all the contents eventually - it is that you will likely have something on hand that saves you a trip to the parts store or dealer.

I got a kit for Honda. I have a 2004 accord. 2012 crv and a 2024 pilot. Works out well
Warning though these are probably low quality clips that will break easily and won't last as long.
The ones I got are noticable feel cheaper than the one popped out of my cars
