Im not sure i would size down like people are saying. It depends on the shoe. The sambas, gazelles, etc are quite narrow and generally people go up a half size. This looks more similar to those, but of course im not sure

For me, Adidas runs a little bigger comparing my Ultrabooat to Nike Free Runs, Infinity, and Invincibles. Girlfriend had the same experience.

Yes! Probably go 1/2 size smaller on the larger sizes.

However, shoes have been getting smaller for years so maybe these are actually the old size.

It is good to have one pair that is too large for those special occasions in life.

Dude... next time ask ChatGPT to give an answer in 100-200 words. Way too long. Nobody read that all the way through.

they look like the adidas version of a Nike Cortez.

Nike cortez runs pretty small.

I've been a life long 10.5/11 in pretty much everything until around 2017.

since then I've jumped from 10 to 11.5 depending on the brand and model.

Basketball shoes suck now. I can only wear them laced up tight for playing basketball, gone are the days I could loosen them up and run errands afterwards. They are so snug fitting that when I wear them loose my toes jam into the front of the shoes.

Based on thousands of online reviews and analyses from various sources, Adidas and Nike sizing generally aligns closely, but there are consistent differences that impact how "true to size" each brand is perceived to be. Here's a detailed breakdown:General Sizing TrendsAdidas: Most reviews indicate Adidas shoes are generally true to size or slightly larger, with a tendency to offer a roomier fit, particularly in the toe box. Models like the Adidas Ultraboost and Stan Smith are frequently cited as true to size, though some variation exists across specific models (e.g., Adidas NMDs or Yeezys can feel tighter or looser due to unique designs or materials like Primeknit). Long-time Adidas users note inconsistencies within the brand, with internal length measurements varying by up to 1-1.5 US sizes for the same nominal size (e.g., US 9 ranging from 260.1 mm to 280.4 mm).Nike: Nike shoes are often reported to run slightly small and narrower, particularly in the heel and midfoot, with a snugger fit overall. Many reviewers recommend sizing up by half a size, especially for models like the Nike Pegasus or Mercurial Vapor, which may require a break-in period. However, recent reviews suggest Nike has improved consistency, with most modern models aligning closer to true-to-size compared to older reputations of running small.Key ComparisonsLength: Adidas shoes tend to run slightly larger than Nike by about 5 mm in some cases. For example, a US size 8 in Adidas may measure 9.7 inches, while the same size in Nike is around 9.62 inches. Half-size differences are more pronounced, with a Nike 7.5 equating to an Adidas 8 in length.Width: Adidas is generally described as having a wider, more accommodating fit, especially for those with broader feet, while Nike's narrower fit suits those with slim or medium-width feet. Nike offers some wide-fit options (e.g., Nike Revolution 7), but Adidas is often preferred for wider feet due to its roomier toe box and neutral last design.Model-Specific Variations: Both brands have models that deviate from their general sizing trends. For instance, Adidas Ultraboost and Nike Air Max may feel snugger or roomier than their respective brand norms, necessitating model-specific research. Reviews emphasize checking customer feedback for specific models, as materials (e.g., Adidas Primeknit or Nike Flyknit) and design goals (performance vs. casual) affect fit.Insights from Online ReviewsConsistency: Adidas sizing is praised for consistency across models compared to Nike, but both brands face criticism for model-specific variations. Adidas users report a range of experiences within the brand, with some models like Superstar or Campus fitting true to size, while others (e.g., Ultraboost 1.0) run smaller. Nike's reputation for running small has softened, with many users finding recent models (post-2019) truer to size, though narrowness remains a common complaint.User Recommendations: Across platforms like Reddit, RunRepeat, and Runner's World, thousands of reviews suggest measuring foot length in centimeters and consulting brand-specific size charts for accuracy. For Adidas, sticking to your true size is often fine, but sizing down half a size may work for a snugger fit. For Nike, sizing up half a size is frequently recommended, especially for those between sizes or with wider feet.Foot Shape Considerations: Reviewers consistently highlight that foot shape impacts perceived fit. Adidas is favored for wider feet or those seeking comfort for long wear, while Nike's snug fit appeals to runners or athletes prioritizing performance.Practical Tips from ReviewsMeasure Your Feet: Use a measuring tape or ruler to determine foot length and width, then compare with brand size charts. Both brands provide detailed charts, but Adidas includes EU, UK, and JP sizes, while Nike focuses on US sizes.Check Model-Specific Reviews: Sites like RunRepeat and Reddit emphasize that sizing can vary by model. For example, Adidas Superstars may require a half-size up for wide feet, while Nike Air Max might fit true to size.Leverage Return Policies: Both brands offer 30-day return policies, allowing users to test shoes indoors to confirm fit without voiding returns.Cross-Brand Conversion: If switching from Nike to Adidas, reviews suggest going down half a size for a comparable fit due to Adidas' slightly larger sizing. Conversely, from Adidas to Nike, sizing up half a size is often advised.Sentiment from X PostsRecent posts on X reflect similar sentiments, with users noting Adidas sizing varies more than Nike's. For example, one user mentioned Adidas gear "varies WILDLY in fit," with some items running "obscenely small," while Nike fits more consistently for them (e.g., US 10-10.5 for Nike vs. a tight or loose US 10 for Adidas). These anecdotes align with broader review trends but are less conclusive due to their subjective nature.ConclusionAdidas and Nike are close in sizing, with Adidas generally running true to size or slightly larger (up to 5 mm) and Nike slightly smaller and narrower. Based on thousands of reviews, Adidas is more consistent across models but has internal variations, while Nike's fit is snugger but has improved in consistency. For the best fit, measure your feet, check model-specific reviews, and consider sizing up for Nike (especially for wide feet) or sticking true to size/sizing down for Adidas if a snug fit is preferred. Always consult size charts and leverage return policies when shopping online.

I know I shouldn't but I can't resist mentioning you clearly didn't even read this wall of text that you posted, you read the first sentence that validated your opinion and stopped. The next few sentences say adidas can run slightly larger and nike can run slightly smaller, then goes on to dump useless information then tells you to just measure your feet. Then it even says "If switching from Nike to Adidas, reviews suggest going down half a size" and vice versa. Along with a claim adidas vary widely by product.

I had to return these. Never had much of a problem with foot width but my feet were straining at the leather and were wider than the sole. You could literally see my toes sticking out at the edge. It's such a shame as they are clearly a very good quality shoe, the leather is soft and super nice. Guess I'll have to stick to giant sneakers.

Incredible quality this leather. Soft as a baby bottom and very stretchy. Runs a half size larger as compared to Ultraboost's despite what everyone here is saying.
