Yes, each tier fits 1 Costco 27 gallon tote, so 1 "unit" = 5 totes
I've heard other companies have different dimensions on the 27 gallon totes and may not fit, but Costco or any other "greenmade" ones (I've heard Walmart/Sam's club are the same) will fit, but ones like home Depot may not
Super useful if you have the Costco 27 gallon totes. I think I paid $35-39 a piece last year on these shelves

Here's a photo of some of mine -- they go in flush, I just have them pulled out a bit in the photo because they're heavy and easier to remove this way
