Mixed reviews and C on Fakespot. This seems better suited for people who are grilling and not long smokes.
This works perfect for a Ninja Woodfire smoker. I have had no connectivity issues for 6+ hr cooks and have had ample battery life remaining (above 75%) when removing after resting.

Temp readings match my Thermapen and it is surprisingly well made for the price. I like that the case is USB-C rechargeable and doubles as an ambient + internal temp display with alarm so you don't have to rely on a cloud app.

It's well worth it at this price IMO. Especially so when you are considering other established brands at more than double the price. I have had a good experience with Govee products in the past (LEDs, smart bulbs) and this is another solid product that just works.

Does it require cloud in order to function?

Yep you just cant cheap out when you need something battery powered to be running and reliable for 18-24 hours like in the case of a big honking $150 brisket.

Have only used it for grilling but the app and device works well. You won't have to worry about not hearing the alarm that's for sure haha. It provides suggested temps based on the type of meat your cooking and doneness you prefer but you can set it to whatever. I usually do it a little lower than it suggests and haven't had any issues.

Worth noting the two pack is $85 shipped with coupons etc.

Which is a crazy price considering all the other ones are like $150 or more.

The higher priced probes usually have multiple internal sensors. The one in this deal has only one at the tip and one at the end for ambient.

Keep in mind the %10 off promo is one time use only per account.

I tried to go back and order the dual probe after ordering the single and it didn't work. Says I have used the max number of promo codes.

That's a really nice price. Having a display on the base is great. I do wonder if the base of this unit has to be "on" to charge the probe. Hopefully, both charge even with the display off. That's an issue I ran into with that Panecea wireless thermometer. I charged the base via USB with the probe attached, but not turned on. The probe was not charged even though I had left the base charging for weeks. I don't see any information whether this GoveeLife requires power on to charge, but if you run into issues with probe battery life, you may want to try that (turn it on several hours/day before with probe attached).

Wireless probe thermometers are brilliant, but sometimes accuracy and reliability are more important, especially for long cooks. I just ordered the ThermoPro TP826 for $36.54. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KZQG...title&th=1 Sure, it has wires attached to the probes and remote, but when I'm using the smoker it's not a big deal. I just want it to connect and be accurate and stay connected. There is an advantage to having two displays (one for the probe base, one for remote viewing), you don't need to use your phone at all. I like that. This ThermoPro also has count up and count down timers, high and low alarms (for resting the meat and knowing when the butt is ready to pull), time and temperature are always displayed, 500 ft range using RF not bluetooth (better connection), and it uses AAA batteries that can be replaced mid-cook if need be (but probably not).

Which is the worst. Best to get multiple sensors (4+) plus ambient. As well as ability to withstand 900F+ temps

The product descriptions says that a single charge last 48 hours?

Is that that thermometer single charge or the base charger single charge?

Also note that costco has a 2 pack of a chef iq brand for 100, ocassionally 80. Better warranty if your believe that the heat will degrade the battery

I just want to ensure my Thanksgiving turkey is sufficiently done that it doesn't poison my family.

I would have jumped on this for that purpose, but I have two Govee devices and absolutely despise their app to control them. Compared to easy to use hardware and apps from YoLink and Tapo, which combined control about two dozen devices in my house, every time I have to use the Govee app I have to relearn where everything is because it has endless filler crap in it that has nothing to do with the hardware I have installed.

Also, if this is like my other Govee devices, it runs on Bluetooth which means a maximum range to your phone for alerts and whatnot of 30 feet, and significantly less that that if the meat is being cooked inside a metal BBQ style cooker.
