A TV upgrade would be much more beneficial. Save this money and put it towards an OLED. That will be an absolute game changer for you. The PS5 Pro is such a small upgrade. I say that as a huge PS5 fan, who really wanted a Pro, until I saw it in action. I can't justify spending hundreds more for a little better version of something I'm already very happy with.
Have base PS5 and recently got the Pro bc I needed a 2nd console and it fit my budget, so made sense to just go w/ the latest gen. It's not worth the upgrade if you already got PS5, the Pro basically delivers base PS5 Quality Mode-level graphics in Performance Mode. It's also borderline unconscionable for Sony to use same CPU in the Pro as the 5yr old base PS5.

Absolutely not. It's such a marginal difference that I would only buy this if I didn't already have a PS5.
Get a PC with 5070 TI or better for a noticeable/substantial upgrade from PS5.
That's terrible advice. A 5070ti will be more than the price of a pro. Not to mention any back catalogue will be thrown in the trash. You telling someone to don't spend $650 spend over a $1000 and begin an entirely new eco system. Again terrible advice.

Is it worth the upgrade to Pro for VR games?
I have a base model, but wouldn't mind paying the extra for a more "VR2" focused console. Just not sure it's worth the additional cost.

No point in getting such a system. Games are at a standstill graphically, and the small amount of return you get on a system like that isn't worth the price. We are still benchmarking setups with games that are almost 10 years old.

Is it worth the upgrade over the regular ps5?
You can basically play games in graphics mode with a better framerate instead of using performance. So if that sounds worth it to you, then go for it. If I didn't have a PS5, I would consider the pro, because I have the money, so it's no big deal for me. Everyone's situation is different.
if you're on the fence and not too tech savvy on the "improvements" over the regular ps5, save your money.
MOST of the differences require zoomed in photo mode to see, during normal gameplay you'd be hard pressed to see a difference. Some games do look better and can run a little higher resolution, but not worth the expense imo.

That's my situation too. Unfortunately PSSR is not VR compatible yet (it's supposed to come at some point) so improvements are limited. GT7 has improved reprojection and that's one of the very few improved games I have heard about. So I am still on the fence about it.

They can be had fairly easily now though at or below MSRP after the scalping fiasco last year, but you will be adding $70-$90 on top of this price.

I had a ps5 slim from a previous GameStop deal around 2024 by trading in a fat og ps5 (basically a $20 ish upgrade for a fresh warranty)
Traded it in to GameStop which gave me $395 credit. Also traded an s which gave about $250 credit.
Bought the pro. I personally don't think it's worth it if you are paying out of pocket and no trade bonuses.
I traded my disc slim ps5 as a digital since it gave the same $395
Kept the disc drive for the pro. Also, Sony didn't even include a stand for the pro. Same stupid clips as the slim
