A TV upgrade would be much more beneficial. Save this money and put it towards an OLED. That will be an absolute game changer for you. The PS5 Pro is such a small upgrade. I say that as a huge PS5 fan, who really wanted a Pro, until I saw it in action. I can't justify spending hundreds more for a little better version of something I'm already very happy with.
Have base PS5 and recently got the Pro bc I needed a 2nd console and it fit my budget, so made sense to just go w/ the latest gen. It's not worth the upgrade if you already got PS5, the Pro basically delivers base PS5 Quality Mode-level graphics in Performance Mode. It's also borderline unconscionable for Sony to use same CPU in the Pro as the 5yr old base PS5.
Game developers can optimize for PS5 pro, but the norm seems to be developing for PS5 (and sometimes PS4) and then optimizing/enhancing those versions rather than developing for PS5 Pro and then scaling back to run on PS5/4.
The PS5 pro will absolutely run better, or at least it can run better, no question there.. but it does have stuff holding it back from doing a lot more.
It's one of the issues I felt that an Xbox Series S was a bad idea.. I do wish they'd stop with building multi-generation versions of games (PS4+PS5, with pro optimizations) and focus more on the PS5/pro and taking more advantage of the PS5 pro rather than just saying "we can run it in higher res or get more fps out of it"
That's what I expect Sony 1st party studios have been doing on their future games. I think Ghost of Yotei will be a true killer-app for the Pro. And I'm really anticipating the new naughty dog and insomniac games as I think those will really help show how big of a difference the Pro can make.
Guys..I need some advice. My brother is a gamer and just moved out. He left a bunch of Playstation consoles and stuff from PS2 to PS4 in good to excellent conditions. Where is the best place to sell them? Ebay?Mercari? FB Marketplace? Thanks in advance.

The best advice in this whole thread.
Also, most games have not been upgraded for Pro

Is it worth the upgrade to Pro for VR games? I have a base model, but wouldn't mind paying the extra for a more "VR2" focused console. Just not sure it's worth the additional cost.
It was worth it for me, at least for Gran Turismo 7 in VR. There is significantly less pop-in as objects move closer to you, which helps a lot with immersion (which is the whole point of VR). For example with my regular PS5, as I was approaching a car, the spoiler on the car would suddenly 'pop-in' and appear seemingly out of nowhere. But with my PS5 Pro, all the graphics are drawn in appropriately. Also there is a lot less blurriness, especially when looking at the side views. I feel that VR is one of the main reasons to get a PS5 Pro.
6 years into the lifecycle of the PS5, new games are still being released with PS4 versions. I'm not a game developer by any means but I would think if you design a game with old hardware in mind, it would be hard to really get all you can out of the "new" hardware.
Multi-platform games are usually designed to run on newer consoles - base PS5 and Xbox - and are then ported to older consoles so PS4 will get a scaled down version. Game engines have gotten better at optimizing for different consoles. In the case of the Pro, they just take the base PS5 game and increase the frame rate.
Why would you need a drive? There's no data on the disc, if they shut the game down, the disc won't work anyway. Used prices are the only case to be made. My point is, it's a waste of money, last 3 ps console I've never put a disc in. PS4, ps4pro, ps5. Not to mention disc take up an enormous amount of space.

They almost always are on the disc. The new Doom is one of the few that aren't and you can blame MS for that.
Switch can be a mixed bag though for what is on the cart.
The fact you haven't used a disc in years is very telling.

They can be had fairly easily now though at or below MSRP after the scalping fiasco last year, but you will be adding $70-$90 on top of this price.
