A TV upgrade would be much more beneficial. Save this money and put it towards an OLED. That will be an absolute game changer for you. The PS5 Pro is such a small upgrade. I say that as a huge PS5 fan, who really wanted a Pro, until I saw it in action. I can't justify spending hundreds more for a little better version of something I'm already very happy with.

Just remember the PS5 Pro doesn't come with the disc drive.

They can be had fairly easily now though at or below MSRP after the scalping fiasco last year, but you will be adding $70-$90 on top of this price.

Have base PS5 and recently got the Pro bc I needed a 2nd console and it fit my budget, so made sense to just go w/ the latest gen. It's not worth the upgrade if you already got PS5, the Pro basically delivers base PS5 Quality Mode-level graphics in Performance Mode. It's also borderline unconscionable for Sony to use same CPU in the Pro as the 5yr old base PS5.

Amazed that people still buy PlayStation given their atrocious game lineup this gen.

PS5 vs PS5 Pro is a lot like deciding between Hamburger Helper for $3 vs Hamburger Helper w "cheese" (powder) for $5.
In the end, you add actual cheese to both anyway.

Disagree entirely. As someone who already has an OLED, the PS5 Pro was a game changer literally in terms of game performance, smoothness, and enjoyment. Getting a solid 60 fps in most game in quality settings doesn't make me motion sick like my regular PS5 would.
I can't tell much difference in quality between quality & performance mode TBH

Which OLED do you have & how do you like it?

Is it worth the upgrade over the regular ps5?
If you're looking for value, no. If you have infinite money, sure, go for it. I have a regular PS5 Disc edition, and I didn't consider getting the pro at all. You can get an OG Disc edition for probably half the price of this one, on the used market.

This past year sucked but some bangers are dropping over the next few months - Death Stranding 2, Metal Gear, and Ghost of Yotei.

Death Stranding 2 is definitely going to be a day 1 grab. I wouldn't say it's worth spending 700 to play, but I'm definitely grabbing it on my PC

Sure, but will it take Rockstar a year to patch up all the inevitable launch bugs?

I have a fat PS5 disc version and 90% of what I play are PS4 games through PS+. Or I play on my PS Portal sometimes.

And while I do buy some physical games, I don't always go that route. But I absolutely use it for 4K-UHD movies.

So no, I'm not buying. I also kept a launch PS4 for 10 years and it was fine.

I do PC gaming as well, but honestly mostly Civ and games like Diablo. I sit in front of a computer all day, at night I like to do something different.
