This is a high performace SSD. I used them in a few builds and they have been fine ever since. Its been over a year. Heres a review from Tom's Hardware [tomshardware.com]

Does the hestsink make much of a difference? I have my Steam games on a dedicated Samsung SSD w/out a HS, but I live in AZ and the weather is gonna get cookin' soon. I need every advantage I can get.

You should have a heatsink even on the samsung, the controller cooks and throttles.

and second tier nvme are not known for running cool, the controllers aren't made with the newest manufacturing processes.
