For what it's worth, GMKtec, Beelink, Minisforum are the bigger brands in this space. I have a GMKtec HX 370 EVO X1 I use as a low power consumption server. I ran full scans of everything, nothing. PC came with no bloatware at all. I would stay away from AceMagic though…

This video should help. He tests games and emulation during the 2nd half of his vids. Some of the vid is with the igpu and also some dgpu tests.

If you're really THAT paranoid about someone stealing your identity and getting all your personal info, better not install Windows 11!

If you're really paranoid, don't just wipe the cheap SSD, put a new better one in it, and if you must use win11, get yourself a free standalone copy of OO ShutUp10 for it. Adguard Home on the network also helps block other trackers like Google's, Amazons, Rokus and Metas across your entire network. Block 8.8.8.8 in your network firewall or create a static route for it in your router.

This is the first time I heard of blocking 8.8.8.8. Why does blocking Google's DNS service help with security?

What's the beef you have with Google DNS?

This little thing is great, Got one couple of years ago for $350 with 16gb of ram and it's been solid for casual gaming and going online and stuff, if you add an Oculink dock and any GPU you got a great gaming rig for the price, this is a no brainer imo.

Sometimes. It depends on if the malware goes to the BIOS level. They have found a way to implement it via hardware/software update like keyloggers but YMMV at the BIOS level.I'd use a secondary account for setup after a fresh OS install and monitor incoming/outgoing traffic if possible. Hate to trust it to have it then hack my home internet and cause a headache or worse grab all the traffic including passwords
This exactly what I did after I got mine a few years ago, I checked it with some antivirus and found nothing, kept doing that and monitoring the internet usage for a couple of weeks before I logged into anything, haven't had a problem for a little over 2 years now, so they are either playing the long term strategy or there isn't malware in it, I didn't check the BiOs though, that didn't come to mind.

Can anyone tell me how well a PC like this would run World of Warcraft (retail)? Our family is in need of a PC and we don't have a lot of money right now. . Thanks.

I don't give a shit about spyware, I won't store any credit card numbers or nudes on this. 😂 Can someone approximate what this "gaming" device can realistically run? Cyberpunk in 1080p completely out of the question, I assume?
This has occulink so you plug any external graphics into it. You will need Oculink Expansion Graphics Docking Station. Our of the box it could run cyberpunk 2077 it's similar GTX 1050ti.

Solid specs for the price. Ryzen 6850H + 32GB DDR5? Toss in an Oculink GPU and you're golden.

In this price range for a MiniPC, they are considerably better.

MSFT goes one step farther with CoPilot. It proudly proclaims they see what you see on MS Edge. Pretty sure they see the same on your screen

Just wipe the computer. Nobody is implementing BIOS/UEFI level hacks on these computers.
Get over yourself and stop trying to be an edgelord.
