At 12 I had to sneak up in the middle of the night to play S1. At 42 I had to sneak my switch into the bathroom to play S2 away from my kids. Portable of course Cool

dang do I want Switch or PS5 version.

switch version 30fps and has some dips, but portable.
ps5 60fps , not portable.

Never played before! Would this be a good game I could easily pause and come back too? I haven't really played any video games after having a kid for that reason

Not sure about pausing per-se, but there are save points. Often times, if I know I'm going to commit to one game for a while, I'll enter "Rest Mode" and come back later. Just don't let anyone turn off your game.

so this is a kinda super grindy game. you dont have to to beat it but if you want to boost 2 you have to level every character to 99 for it to matter. its a really interesting game the second one is basically an anime with you jrpg through it. its turn based with cool combo attacks based on the characters you have in your party a little bit like chrono trigger but you have 120 characters to collect, and some are time based meaning if you goof around grinding at the wrong point you can miss the chance to collect them. characters can die in the turn based strategy moments and they are gone. you can lose battles and the story advances. its a really interesting and fun game for 30. timing is based on in game time played so you can save and then pickup wherever you like(that the game lets you save)

Not true, this is the least grindy game because of the fact that you have 108 characters. If you bring an under leveled character in your party (even if they're level 10) after 3 fights they're basically at the same level of the dungeon/your party.

You can also beat the game when you're around lvl 60.
