In for one. I got several of these too: Better Homes & Gardens 12.75" felt cubes, 2 pack for $9.94 in various colors: https://www.walmart.com/ip/521963...793da903dd

Update: Received and built. It's heavy, you'll need two people to move it around. Looks alright, pieces felt cheap and light, but I assembled it alone without trouble.

Ikea ones are durable if you use them as designed, they cannot take a drilled custom feet since it's basically made of wood particles and air covered with a sheet of paper.

I guess you had luck with Belter Homes & Garden products. I purchased one of their coffee tables and I guess it must've been designed at an insane asylum.

Virtually the same in terms of dimensions (size) -- but the IKEA Kallax equivalent of this is $120. The cube openings are the same, so they'd work with Kallax-sized baskets. Not sure about the hardware inserts (like the shelves) but I suspect they'd work too -- plus IKEA has a very generous return policy if they don't. Super slick deal here IMO.

Just bought this Saturday and it arrived yesterday. Word of warning to not make the same mistake I did - while I measured and it would fit in my closet I forgot to account for the "lip" of the front of the closet and can't get it inside. I'm going to try and see if I can assemble the last side while it is in the closet but I'm doubtful I'll have enough room to make it work XD Holes were also not exactly aligned for putting on the final sides which caused some issues in the final assembly steps, which required a bit more force to get them to set.

Walmart has a great return policy, assuming you're within the return window

Ordered 5 of these, couple colors and different sizes 2 on Monday and the first 3 were delivered by FedEx yesterday (16, 12, and 6 cubby). I have 2 of the 8 cubby version coming today. I am more than impressed by the build and packaging quality. FedEx left the 3 a bit out from porch but once I looked I understood why. The 16 cubby version weighs 113 pounds in the box and like 107 out of I put together the 6 cubby last night and the MDF of the 4 sides is way thicker than I imagined. Easy install with 8 long hex headed screws that are already countersunk. I was concerned they may be damaged just due to weight and being dropped on their side but it is tightly packed with really think well thought out cardboard items. I think it was a bit over 300 for the 5 and the FedEx shipping alone I would think on these heavy boxes would be high. The use no cam locks which are the bane of cheap furniture and the dowels are 2 really long and plastic versus the normal little wood ones and all of that makes them feel very sturdy. There is no trashy looking foldable backing to nail in either. I do believe it can hold the weight advertised. So yeah if you need some I think these are a steal.

Backing on furniture like this provides lateral strength to keep them from pancaking under heavy load.

Want to throw in on this comment because I had the same issue with the final top and bottom. Kind of had to guide them in and move it around a bit to get the screws to catch but I have had much worse with other similar particle furniture. Using it for our kids toys and other things. Overall they don't look bad and seem pretty solid. Especially for the prices this is a pretty good deal.
