I'm thoroughly happy with my TCL 2.0 bar, very tempting to pick this up for the living room

I own the TCL 5.1 soundbar which is technically two pieces. The subwoofer and a big bar. No Atmos but pretty damn good. Sound as much as I need about the same price.

I currently have the TCL Alto 5 I got from Walmart a while back. I'm not super particular about sound quality, so it seems to work fine. Is this worth the upgrade?

I also have the small 2.0 TCL and it is pretty decent for what it is, I have been pleasantly surprised. Makes me want to try this.

The photos of the drivers inside make this look like a 3.1.2, with a center channel, no? That would be nice for dialog

How does this compare to the Yamaha ATS-1090 refurb that's still available from BrandsMart for $50? Anyone have experience with both?

Gave it a shot, for this price with free shipping it's a no brainer.

UPDATE: Received it today. Box had been opened previously, but everything inside was packaged perfectly, all plastic baggies were sealed. Have a TCL 6 series TV, ARC did not work. Volume up/down control worked but no sound. Replaced included cable with one I had around the house, ARC connected but said "inactive." Got mad. Read stuff. I have a mini PC in the TV HDMI1 port, unplugged it, ARC suddenly worked and audio passed through to it, reconnected mini PC and everything works.

In a small bedroom this thing is LOUD. Make sure to move between the Movies/Music/TV presets, they do have a noticeable effect. Not for audiophiles, but great for the average Joe at $80!

ARC is finicky, included cable didn't work properly.

Bought one because honestly $80 for a soundbar with actual up firing speakers is pretty crazy. I was going to go with a full surround sound setup but this might be plenty good for the price.

Would this be possible to hook up to desktop computer? Such as the green cable plug-in for sound. It doesn't seem to say it is usable for this.

Or hooked up to computer monitor with HDMI? I do have a two monitor setup though, so not sure how that would work.

I have their 2.0 in my bedroom without the sub and for the money sounds really good. May have to get one of these and upgrade! Edit*. Went ahead and purchased. For this price can't beat it for a small upgrade!!!!

So that is what I was trying to research. Best Buy doesn't Carry it anymore but on their q&a part tcl replied to a question about this and said it actually doesn't have a center channel since it is 2.1 so that picture I believe may be misleading.

I picked up a cheap 2.1 version without the up-firing speakers and thought the thing was garbage, sounded terrible. I think they were clearing them out around $40 quite awhile back.

I know $80 isn't much but my .02 I'd put the $80 towards something else.

Applications that can use a couple small speakers I've found using a pair of Edifiers (1280 or similar) hooked up to the TV headphone output sounds a ton better to me than cheap soundbars.
