I own a few of these winders / string clippers. These are the ones to get. They really make string changes much more efficient.

I have this and don't recommend. The two handles come in the way of string winding. The string clipper needs to open way too much and is impossible to operate with one hand. Too many features but none work too well.

Sure, if you don't ever need to cut a string, pop out bridge pins, or tune a bass. This is considerably more versatile and can do most things you need to be able to change and tighten strings.

the autowinders are kind of neat and if I were a roadie I might want to own one. But for changing strings once in a while, this is the tool to get.
